Ideas for new projects
From Judge Wiki
This page is used to collect ideas for new projects that improve our live as judges.
When contributing please note the following information:
- short title (not really necessary, but fun :))
- description of the project: here you write what should be done
- the scope where it should take place: worldwide, on a continent or in your local community
- your name (if it's not your idea, but you are writing this for someone else, please note)
- the date when you entered the project
If you see a project you like please contact the "lead" person if s/he is still interested in doing it. If not, feel free to start it, make a note at the page "The things we do" and use the "project" option of the DCIFamily webpage. If you want to join a project, please also contact the "lead".
Sample Project
Title: Judge-Wiki
Description: It would be brilliant to have a place to store all the information we have gathered. For this a Wiki would be an excellent solution, as everyone can contribute and no update of webpages is necessary.
Scope: worldwide
Name: Christian Gawrilowicz (inspired by countless other judges)
Date suggested: Feb. 20th, 2010
Claimed by: no one so so far
Charity Events
Title: Judges Helping Communities Around the World
Description: It would bring terrific positive attention to the DCI program and to the game of Magic as a whole by organizing, promoting, and contributing to charity tournaments and events through the various outlets available to the DCI.
Scope: Worldwide
Name: Steven Briggs
Date suggested: January 25th, 2011
Claimed by: No one thusfar, though I would like the opportunity to take this on given my experience and success in organizing these events so far.
Judge Examination
Title: Careful Examination Yields Results
Description: Developing a judge curriculum or structure to base our test pools and questions on would help in developing more consistent judge development and produce a higher success rate amongst candidates with judges that are better able to serve in the roles we want them to fulfill. Pairing this with analysis and redevelopment of test pool questions will help the exam become a more calculated and successful tool in both judge development and skill assessment.
Scope: Worldwide
Name: Steven Briggs
Date suggested: January 25th, 2011
Claimed by: Currently a vacant sphere, though I would like the opportunity to participate in development of this given my professional expertise in education, test administration, test preparation, and analysis.
