Tips and Tricks for your Judge Test

  • Read each question carefully and each of the listed answers before marking one. Do not mark the first one which seems correct.
  • Read carefully and completely each card, even if you think that you know it already.
  • Eliminate (could be even crossing out, although you should leave it legible in case you want to read it again afterwards) the answers which, from the very beginning are wrong. That way, it's easier to know among which you should choose from.
  • Once you've got less answers left, compare word by word among the remaining and see where are the differences are. It could even be helpful to underline those differences. Many times a slight change of words or order makes all the difference!
  • If a questions turns out to be too complicated, go on and leave that one for the end. Make a small note of all questions you need to check again once you finish the first pass.
  • Remember that always, active player's names start with an 'A' and non-active player's start with an 'N'.
  • Those questions whose answers have a circle mean there's only one correct answer. Those whose answers are squares means it's a multiple question one, where the right answers might range from 0 to 5.
  • Some questions involve several card and/or abilities. Hopefully the person testing you will give you some basic lands to help physically represent the question - if not, ask for some.
  • Once you finished the exam, start it all over again without looking at the answers you made previously. Once you finish this second pass, compare answers and if there's some discrepancy, seems like you need to check those questions once again.
  • The exam consists of rules questions on the first part and IPG/MTR/FCE on the end. You can choose whether to start from the beginning or rather, start from the end!
